Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Parash Gupta ("we", "us") for the use of Splitzy. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

What Splitzy is — and is not

Splitzy records shared expenses and works out who owes whom. It does not move money. We are not a bank, a payment service or a money transmitter, we never hold your funds, and marking something as "settled" in the app is only a note that you settled it somewhere else. Balances shown are a convenience, not a statement of account, and nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice. Any dispute about who owes what is between you and the people you share expenses with.

Your account

You must be 18 or older. Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly at splitzy.co.in@gmail.com if you think someone else has access. What happens under your account is your responsibility.

What you put in

Your data stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as we need to run the service for you and the people you share groups with.

You are responsible for what you upload. Receipts and notes often contain other people's information — only add what you are entitled to share, and remember that everyone in a group can see everything added to it.

Do not use Splitzy to break the law, to harass anyone, to upload malware, to try to reach other people's accounts or our systems, or to scrape or overload the service.

Availability

The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or stop features, and we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We do our best to keep your data safe, but you should not rely on Splitzy as your only record of anything that matters financially.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for money you lose in a dispute with someone you share expenses with, or for amounts beyond what you have paid us for the service in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using Splitzy and ask us to delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk.

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email when the change is significant; continuing to use Splitzy means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
